Closing Ceremony New
“Misahat Noon” On the 30th of July 2023, NO NAME artistic Studio Lab hosted an electrifying Closing Ceremony for “Misahat Noon” Program, an initiative implemented by “Dancers Citizens South” (DCS) with the support of the US Embassy in Tunisia. At the heart of this program lies a mission that aims to raise awareness towards the urgent and pressing issue of violence against tunisian women. The event was attended by an audience from diverse backgrounds presenting an extraordinary mix of civil society activists, distinguished organizations, talented artists, and stakeholders... Through meticulous research, DCS team displayed data highlighting the current threats faced by tunisian women and echoed a poignant message to honor and immortalize the memory of all female victims who tragically lost their lives at the hands of their husbands or male relatives in 2023. Additionally, team members shared Misahat Noon’s journey throughout a whole year where they highlighted the incremental steps taken to realize their objectives and discussed the final outcomes that the program yielded. With a heartfelt contribution of “NOON exhibition”, the talented photographer “Jilani Ben Cheikh” unveiled the harsh realities that often remain obscured by societal veils and depicted the unspoken stories, challenges, and injustices that women endure in our community through a series of images. The exhibition emphasized that each name, each story, represents not just a life lost, but a stark reminder of the urgent need for societal transformation. The urgency of the matter was illustrated with a projection of “Her Name is Sarra” dance performance carrying a touching story and a strong message to remember the names of all the lives lost. Through this artistic projection, the audience was invited to immerse themselves in the narrative and to reflect upon the status of women in Tunisia. We extend our gratitude to every artist, supporter, and visitor who contributed to the success of this program.
